Peek at our week!

Last week we played Artefact Pursuit - a game which helped us to ask and answer questions about household objects from the past. The children then enjoyed matching the artefacts to their modern day equivalents.

We also did a maths investigation to see how many red jellybeans were in a bag. We sorted, counted and created a bar chart to show our findings. We were amazed to find out that there were no blue jellybeans!!

Next week we will be telling the time to the hour and half hour. I have added some links to the learning links section so the children can practise at home.

Reminder...

It is World Book Day on Thursday and, as well as dressing as their favourite characters, I would like the children to bring their favourite book and a cushion for our afternoon story session.

A Quick Reminder...

Just a quick note to remind you that we will visit Beamish on Tuesday 4th March and all money needs to be in by Friday 28th February.

It is World Book Day next Thursday 6th March and we will be dressing up as our favourite book characters. The children will be getting the service bus to the local library to hear stories from around the world.

What a busy week!!!

This week we have been using the puppets we made last term to make up our own stories. We looked at themes that were common in traditional tales (good character, bad character, witch, wolf ...). The children responded very well indeed. Look at the fun they had!

We also began to design and make our recycled houses. Glue, scissors, paint, sticky tape.... what a happy lot we had!!!!! Some children were building houses with the Lego. I really think we have some future architects in our class!!!

I will post pictures of the finished designs soon. May I remind you all that school will be closed on Monday due to staff training which is taking place at another school.

Next week our blog word of the week will be Stig of the dump.
